DIA 1 / MEXICO CITY

DIA 2 / MEXICO CITY
Breakfast and a walking tour to the impressive zocalo in beautiful Mexico City, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, and is connection between what was the Aztec empire and present day Mexico. Tour through the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace and the Palace of Beautiful Arts. Later we will move to the Paseo de la Reforma where we will find the Angel of Independence, Diana Cazadora among others. We will also visit some emblematic districts of the city such as the Colonia Roma and the Condesa. Free time in the afternoon to enjoy the city.
DIA 3 / TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ CHIAPAS, CANYON DEL SUMIDERO, CHIFON, CHIAPA DE CORZO, SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS
Breakfast and transfer trip to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. Arrival at destination and reception by our guide. We start our tour to the Canyon del Sumidero. Arrive at the pier to board a boat, followed by two hour boat ride through the canyon. Tour to the colonial city Chiapa de Corzo, recently named a World Heritage site by Unesco, for the celebrations of parachicos. Guided walking tour of its historical center. Free time to have lunch in Chiapa de Corzo. Transportation to San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Arrival to the hotel. Free dinner.
DIA 4 / SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, CHIFLON AND MONTEBELLO LAKES, SAN CRISTÓBAL
Breakfast included in the hotel starting at 7 a.m. and group leaving at 8 a.m. Heading towards the CASCADA EL CHIFLON. Upon arrival we will go on a long hike to visit the waterfall Velo de Novia , 120 meters high. Immediately following we continue our route traveling through the Montebello lakes. We return to San Cristóbal to enjoy the afternoon in this beautiful place. Free dinner.
DIA 5 / INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES OF SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS
After the breakfast, we will leave for our visit to the Indigenous Communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group; visiting first Chamula, to learn about the fusion between Maya ancestral characteristics and contemporary traditions that identifies this place. Later, we head to Zinacantán, where we will visit the church and the house of a family cooperative. Here we will observe as the women work the waist loom from Pre-Columbian times. When finished, we will return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas and have a tour by this beautiful city. The rest of the day is free. Lodging.
DIA 6 / SAN CRISTOBAL OF the HOUSES, AGUA AZUL, PALENQUE
After breakfast, we head to Palenque. On the way, we will stop by Agua Azul , a set of waterfalls created by the currents of the Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers. The rivers form a shallow canyon with vertical cliffs, where it will be possible to be swim and enjoy our surroundings. Later, we continue to the waterfalls of Misol-Ha, 30 meters high and surrounded by rain forest, a beautiful and refreshing place. Transfer to the hotel in the city of Palenque. Lodging.
DIA 7 / PALENQUE, YAXCHILÁN, BONAMPAK, PALENQUE
We will leave very early approximately 6AM towards Frontera Corozal (we will stop to have breakfast in the way). Once in the border with Guatemal we will sail by the Usumacinta River approximately one hour until arriving at the impressive archaeological site of Yaxchilán, magical with luxuriant vegetation and recognized place due to the quality of its sculptures. On our way back, we will continue with the visit of Bonampak. Its name means “Painted Walls”, and the beauty of this site it’s in these paintings, since on the walls of the enclosures are the best conserved paintings of the Mayan World. Later, we will return to Palenque. Lodging.
DIA 8 / ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF PALENQUE, AIRPORT OF VILLAHERMOSA, MEXICO CITY
After breakfast we will visit the archaeological site of Palenque. This Maya city is noted for its constructions like: The Palace, the Temple of Cruz Foliada, the Temple of the Sun and others. Later, we will have the opportunity to visit the museum “Alberto Ruz Lhuillier”, considered one of the more notable archaeological museums of the Maya area. The museum reunites approximately 234 objects from different areas in Palenque. These artifacts represent sources of intelligence on the religious, practical beliefs, rituals and forms of political organization of the local society. Additionally, we will view the sarcophagus of Pakal, housed with the intention of safeguarding the original monument inside the Temple of the Inscriptions. When finished we leave for the city of Villahermosa where we transfer to the airport and fly to Mexico City.
DIA 9 / MEXICO CITY, AIRPORT
